Description: Painting on vertical piece of material backed by card, possibly tanzaku style. Part of a set of seven paintings (2024.22.58.3-9).
Long description: Painting of green leaves, possibly bamboo, against a gold background on a piece of material or textured paper backed by card. An insect with a grey back and red eyes is depicted on the largest leaf at the top of the card. A signature in black ink and a red seal is present at the bottom right corner of the card. The front of the card is completely covered with gold foil and the reverse is natural coloured with specks of gold foil.
