- Description
- Bowl with blue swirl and leaf pattern.
- Long description
- This glazed blue and white porcelain bowl was likely used for food and drink, possibly to hold soy sauce or tea. The bowl has a blue swirl and leaf pattern on a white background, with three clusters of large leaves. Two fine blue lines encircle its top and bottom, bordering the swirl and leaf pattern. Three fine blue lines encircle the exterior of its foot and one the interior. The base bears a Japanese maker's mark. The bowl is possibly Arita Ware, a traditional Japanese export ware of blue and white porcelain.
