Long description
Japanese paper charm. Paper charm folded as an envelope. The charm is printed on one side with rows of Japanese characters in black ink. The same side is stamped with a square stamp in red ink and stamped with three Japanese characters in red ink. The back of the charm is stamped with a red stamp. The charm is strung together to a duplicate charm. [see 1985.53.84 .2] [FB 07/01/2013]

The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2013 as:(In red) “Kato yoke”, Protection from fire “O-mamori Kinryu-zan Senso-ji”, Amulet from Senso-ji temple at Kinryu-zan. [FB 21/08/2013]
