Research and responses

This object was examined by Fusa Mclynn who volunteered at the museum in 2009-2012 transcribing and translating the Chamberlain Collection. She believes that this object might be calligraphy practice as 2009.32.24-.27 have repeated kanji and 2009.32.27 has the kanji drawn in red ink and then traced over in black ink. This is usually used by a teacher to correct a pupil's calligraphy. [SM 22/06/2009]
