- Long description
- Doll of corn cob with a large flat disc of clay at one end and a piece of material with a dark gingham design at the other. The clay 'head' is formed from two discs fixed together using strips of material. The top disc has a raised peak. At the top of the corncob, between two bands of cloth a pair of arms or ?breasts have been modelled of clay and fixed to the corncob. A length of uncovered corncob is below this, and covering the rest of the corncob is a piece of material which has been wrapped around the figure as a rough 'skirt' and tied into place using a strip of the same material. The pattern on the material is of lines of cream and black crossing at right angles, like tartan or gingham checks.
