Long description
Iron throwing-knife [.1] - 'F' shaped, in hide sheath [.2] with three other throwing knives [1913.31.18, 1913.31.19, 1913.31.20]. The knife has a long straight handle with a forwards projecting spur with a pointed tip. After the spur the blade curves forward to a pointed tip. The top surface of the knife has widthways indentations along the blade, spur and at the bottom of the handle. The butt is pointed. The sheath is made of animal hide stitched together with hide strips. It has an attached section for protecting the knife spurs and is edged with plaited leather strips. The leather near the mouth of the sheath has four triangle shapes cut out of it. [SM 05/06/2007]
