Description: Conical wide brim twill-woven bamboo hat.
Long description: Conical wide brim hat made of two layers of twill woven split bamboo. These are secured together at the brim, sandwiched between two split lengths of 10mm wide bamboo, circling the circumference of the hat and fixed in place with slim bamboo thread. The edge of the brim is then covered by a 50mm wide strip of bamboo. The point of the hat is covered with a small knot made of three strands of bamboo. An independent headband of bamboo woven in curvilinear shapes is attached to the underside of the hat with three strips of bamboo; one of which is broken. The inner conical layer is made of a twill weave of pale bamboo. The outer layer is made of similar twill weave but using two shades of bamboo thus creating a diagonal linear pattern around the hat. There are also three decorative diamond patterns with the pale strands forming the background and the darker strands forming a Chinese character, 佛, meaning Buddha or Buddhism. Plastic strands and textile tape/ribbon are attached to the underside of the hat.
