Description
Lute [.1] and case [.2].
Long description
Lute [.1], with a teardrop-shaped body, fully rounded underneath. It has six remaining metal strings and eight bone tuning pegs. The front of the body is incised with a foliate design, and inlaid with small pieces of mother-of-pearl and a section of stained plastic giving a tortoiseshell effect. The case [.2] has a hinged lid, and is made of wood covered in black textured cardboard. The inner lining is a red felt fabric. There are three short leather straps which fasten in three metal buckles. There is a handle on the lid.
