Description
Bag for storing kohl
Long description
Bag for storing kohl - a black powder, usually antimony sulphide or lead sulphide, used as eye make-up. The bag is a small strip of multicoloured shiny synthetic textile which has been lined with card and then with a strip of plain synthetic textile. The whole thing has been folded up and then stitched down the sides with a sewing machine to form a bag shape. Tufts of bright pink wool have also been stitched down between the layers to act as decoration. The bag is closed by means of a flap and a long strand of bright pink wool with a textile scrap tied at the end. This strand of wool can be wrapped around the bag several times to close the bag.
