Research and responses

In the vellum Ashmolean volumes there is a mention of an object numbered 77a but this is not included in the Ashmolean accession book. To allow for this object the number of this object has been changed from 1886.1.77 to 1886.1.77 .1. An item 77a is stuck in vellum volume [before page 3 of volume I] saying 'Trans. to Anthrop. Mus. from Ashmolean 5th section Feb: 17th 1886 Received [numbers listed] HN Moseley' and 'What is this article as? about number' [sic] [AP 5/3/99]
