Long description
Cylindrical drum, made from a hollowed wooden frame with ?lizard skin covering one end. This is secured by plaited rings of cane and plant fibre. The wooden body narrows slightly towards the opposite end, where it terminates in a decorative, forked section. This section is carved with relief designs painted red, black and white, possibly depicting human faces, with the pointed ends possibly depicting crocodile faces. There is a plaited fibre string for suspension.
