Rattle consisting of a wooden handle decorated with a basketry woven cover. This decoration also has the practical purpose of holding down the fibres from which the hemispherical pieces of shell are hung. There are 8 strands of fibre each of which holds 6 nuts, the fibres are knotted together at the bottom below the lowest shell. One of the fibres has been repaired with a length of string. [HLR]
