Description
Wooden spear with many spiked prongs of bone bound onto the fore-end with plaited plant fibre. [MdeA / CW 29 4 1998]
Long description
Wooden spear with many spiked prongs of bone bound onto the forend with fibre, giving it a "bristled" appearance. The spikes start with three long bone prongs at the front, and then reduce in size up to the grip. All the prongs point forwards. There is some evidence of red pigment on the binding. Short section of fibre binding but no grip. See 1884.19.282 for similar object. [MdeA / CW 29 4 1998]
