Long description
Bamboo spear with spathe 'feather'. The shaft is formed from a long strip of bamboo which has been split at one end and bound again at the tip with a ring of plant fibre. In this split a lozenge-shaped sheet of spathe has been inserted and secured with cane. [JMC [OPS move] 17/7/2018]
