- Research and responses
Chris Gosden Curator of Archaeology at the Pitt Rivers Museum looked at this object on 22nd May 1998. He ascertained that it is made of fine grain volcanic stone. He stated that this object was probably prehistoric in age [more than 2000 years old].[CK 22 05 1998]

1899.62.746Long club, both ends spatulate. It has a cylindrical handle which expands into the head, rounded to a point at the distal end, with a curved transverse rib on one face and flat on the other.
