- Research and responses
Please note that in the Ashmolean Museum, Department of Antiquities, Accession Register entry for this object [Ash no. 1910.810], a note in pencil was made referring to a letter from the donor, Robert Day, from December 1867. Unfortunately this letter could not be located by anyone while I was at the Ashmolean looking at the Donor Index, but Alison Roberts [Collections Manager] will get in touch if she manages to locate it. Also, when I wanted to add the exact reference from the Accession Register, it had been sent to the Paper Conservator so this was not possible and so I have just added what I remembered the note saying. It possibly said Robert John Day. [L.Ph 26/3/2004]
