The high limestone cliffs of Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] slope from the near left foreground down to a rock escarpment in deep shadow on the far right. The slopes are bare of vegetation. The rock escarpment runs from the far right into the centre distance, towards Al Ain. Beyond the escarpment at the far right is a plain dotted with sparse vegetation. Wilfred Thesiger spent a week on Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] hunting Arabian Tahr [Hemitragus jayakari] with Arab and Bedouin guides in April 1948.2004.130.17810.1
