- Sword with red painted hilt [.1] and single edged blade [.2]. With wooden sheath [.3] also painted red and bear jaw [.4] The hilt is wooden with an expanded and curved pommel. It is bound with cane along the grip. The blade is expanded with a slightly concave tip with two points. The sheath is open on one side and curved, with a projecting rounded tip. It is bound at several points with plaited cane and has a plaited cane carrying strap bound on to the open side. A length of string is knotted around the cane strap. The bear jaw was found separated from the sheath. It consists of a sawn off section of the upper jaw of a ?bear, including two large molars, a pre molar, a canine and three front teeth. The jaw has been varnished and has two holes drilled through it. [SM 17/05/2007]
