Long description
Two superstructures which attaches to the sides of Black Hat Dancer's hat [1996.3.1 .1]. The decorative superstructures are made from layers of reinforced textile cut out in the shape of curvilinear fire breathing dragons/snakes and ornate floral pattern painted white, blue, green, yellow and gold. At the mouth of each creature is a tab of reinforced textile for insertion into the slits in the side of the white painted skull on the top of the hat [1996.3.1 .1]. At the centre of each creature is a red satin cord used to tie the superstructure to the bamboo wand also on the crown of the hat. [FB 02/12/2014]
