Description

Long description
One of a pair of trade silver brooches, part of an outfit made in an Eastern Woodlands style. The brooch consists of a circular, concave, metal plate with a large circular hole in the centre. The plate is decorated with openwork, cut-out designs, comprising a ring of triangles and a ring of alternating circles and lenticular shapes. Around the hole there are two sets of incised concentric circles. The pin consists of a flat, tapering piece of metal which is curved around a rectangular hole in the brooch.
