The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2013 as: 1 “Nihon sokokubunji Kondo Birushanabutsu”, Great Buddha of Todai-ji temple, the principal kokubunnji of Japan 2 Measurements of the Great Buddha 3 (red seal) “Nara Todai-ji Daibutsu kai”, the Society of Nara Todai-ji Daibutsu [FB 08/01/2014]
