Research and responses

Because of the type of objects in this unmatched black book entry it must be possible that the objects were either not transferred to PRM or that once in Oxford they were sent to another museum [?University Museum] or University Dept. [eg Zoology] There is a note relating to black book entries 1347 - 1385 by B. Blackwood saying 'These skulls and casts except where marked probably remained in the Dept of Zoology with Moseley or went to the Dept of Human Anatomy ...' I think it is likely that the same happened with these animal skulls if they were transferred from London in 1884. Note that there a quite a few animal, fish and bird skulls listed in the black blue and red books and the delivery catalogues and some of them may match this entry as well, for many of these new entries have been made.
