The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2013 as: (On the lid of the box) “Kaiun”, Good luck; “Shichifukujin”, seven lucky gods of Shintoism (Inside, on the top sphere surface) Some names of the Shinto gods, including “Amaterasu”, Sun Goddes, and “Hachiman”.
