Long description
Basket. Semi-globular basket with flat bottom and rounded sides. Finely, tightly woven sides with six diagonal stepped triangular designs. Two of the bands have pointed edges. In between the bands are diagonal lines of squares. The bottom is decorated with triangles which have pointed ridges along two edges. [MOBB [OPS move] 2/11/2016]

Originally entered as Pomo. Identifed as S. Pomo or Wappo by Sally McLendon, Hunter College, CUNY, 1992 (see DOC). She describes it as follows: 'Three-rod coiled basket, foundation of willow shoots sewn with sedge and dyed bullrush root. Coiled to the left.' [LMM]
