Japanese paper charm. Folded paper charm printed on one side with three rows of Japanese characters in black pigment. The charm has been stamped on the front with a stamp in red ink. The amulet is stamped on the back with two Japanese characters in red ink. The inside of the paper is inscribed with three rows of Japanese characters in black ink. [FB 07/01/2013]

The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2013 as: “Kiyomizu-dera Kanzenon Anzan go-shugo”, Amulet for safe childbirth from Kannon of Kiyomizu temple. [FB 21/08/2013]
