Description
Woman's embroidered jacket. [FB 12/09/2012]
Long description
Woman's embroidered jacket. The jacket is made from black cotton textile. The front, back and sleeves of the jacket have been embellished with panels of appliquéd cotton embroidered with silk yarn. The front breast of the jacket is made from a blue cotton textile as are the lower sections of both sleeves. The inside of the jacket is lined with indigo dyed cotton textile. The squares of appliquéd colourful cotton which adorn the front and back of the jacket and sleeves are embroidered with floral patterns in silk yarn in satin stitch, chain stitch and cross stitch with panels embroidered directly onto the black cotton of the textile. These are bordered with lengths of white cotton embroidered with stylised ?butterfly motifs in pink, purple and green silk yarn in satin stitch. The collar of the jacket is embroidered with similar designs in pink, purple, green and orange. [FB 12/09/2012]
