Man’s ‘abayeh (cloak) of lightweight cream fabric with machine embroidery.
Long description
Man’s ‘abayeh (cloak) of lightweight cream fabric. The overall shape of the ‘abayeh is square, with two panels at the front and two openings for the arms. The front and the back of the neck are machine embroidered with chain stitch in cream floss silk. The embroidery includes floral designs. There is a cream silk cord running along the square neckline and hanging freely from each side, terminating in a silk tassel. The bottom of the ‘abayeh has been stitched up into a very wide hem.
