Long description
Part of a woman's headdress. The textile consists of a rectangular length of indigo dyed cotton textile on one side this is decorated with reverse appliqué dots and interlaced crosses in red and white squares and triangles edged with narrow cotton strips. There is a rectangular panel of indigo dyed cotton that has been beaten to a sheen. Stitched to one end of the textile is a smaller rectangle of black cotton textile with a central panel embroidered with geometric and star design in white, pink and green silk yarn in cross stitch bordered to each side with a band of cotton textile printed with floral design in green, blue, pink and white on a red background. The end of this has been strung with nine tassels in alternating pink and green synthetic yarn with glass beads in white, blue, green and red. [FB 12/09/2012]
