- Woman's jacket. The jacket is short sleeved and is made from cotton textile dyed indigo. The outside of the jacket has been calandered to give the surface a gloss finish. The neck and collar of the jacket have been embroidered with a braid woven in red, black and blue cotton textile. The sleeves have been embroidered with a band of geometric pattern in red, black and blue. [FB 08/06/2012]

Calandering makes the indigo dyed cloth shiny and is prized by the Miao. It is done by folding the material and beating it with a wooden mallet on a flay stone. [FB 01/06/2012]
