Long description
Carved wooden sheath [.2] for a sword [1896.67.5 .1]. The sheath is made of two pieces of wood bound together with cane. The carving on the front of the sheath extends along its length and the end of the sheath is shaped. There is a smaller bark sheath attached to the back of the sheath. It contains a stick. There is a cane loop and plaited cane strap attached to the back of this bark sheath. A piece of rope is knotted to the strap. [SM 15/02/2007]
