The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2012 as: “Tokyo nichinichi shinbun, Meiji nijuyo nen go gatsu nijusan niche”, Tokyo nichinichi shinbun, 23 May, Meiji 23 (1900). (Censorship related to “Otsu jiken”) [El.B 04/05/2012]
