Description
Woman's robe.
Long description
Woman's robe or dress made of sections of tie dyed woolen cloth. The bodice of the dress is ungathered. The sleves are long and are made up of five bands of different coloured tie dye textile. The bodice has a central opening to which has been attached on one side a flap of tie dyed textile. This flap has been edged in pale blue cotton textile. The skirt of the dress is gathered at the waist and is made up of strips of different colour tie dyed wool textile which have been sewn together vertically. The skirt has been hemmed with cotton textile which has been printed with a floral design. This textile is not visible from the outside of the dress. [MdeA 23/9/2002]
