Description
Model wooden cradle with hide lining and hide thongs. [MJD 08/10/2013]
Long description
Model wooden cradle. The sides of the cradle are made of two bent pieces of wood. The bottom of the cradle is wooden. The base of the head is covered with animal hide. Inside the wooden frame is a birch bark base with leather cover over the top. There are leather thongs tied across the cradle and through the wooden sides, which are used to secure the baby in the cradle. There is a wooden handle at the head end. The cradle has an animal hide strip from the bottom to the head via the handle. Beadwork is stitched on this hide strip. [MJD 08/10/2013]
