Research and responses

The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2010 as: “Kakure no miya shinpu”, an amulet from Kakure no miya. (Kakure no miya is where the God Izanagi retired after he completed establishing Japan. It is in Awaji island, Hyogo prefecture) “Shamu”, shrine office [El.B DDF Body Arts Project 2010/2011 13/10/2010]

Notes written on database printouts by Professor Itaru Chijiwa (Kokugakuin University) during a research visit, November 2009, transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn when volunteering at the Museum in 2019: 'Upper red stamp shows ‘Jindai moji’ (invented divine writing), and the lower one reads ‘Taga-sha ?’ (Taga shrine).'.
