Research and responses: The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2009/2010 as: “Kumano fusumi jinja taima”, amulet from Kumano fusumi shrine. Red square stamp: “Kii-no-kuni higashimuro-gun Nachi-san za”, Mt. Nachi in Higashimuro-gun, Kii (present Wakayama prefecture). [El.B 18/01/2010]
