The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2012 as: (Top) “Fukushima ken Bandai san funka no zu”, Illustration of eruption of Mt. Bandai in Fukushima prefecture. The text attached on the right reports the eruption of July 1888. [El.B 04/05/2012]
