Research and responses

This object was examined by Professor Itaru Chijiwa during his research visit in November 2008. He noted that the Sanskrit inscription written inside the amulet are Buddha's true words, "Fudo Shigon". Their Sanskrit transcription is "Kan nou maku sa man da ba zara dan kan" [SM 04/12/2008]

The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2009 as: Written on the outside and also written inside: “Fudomyoo Gomaku no fuda, Itokuji” - Amulet empowered by holy fire from Fudomyoo at Itokuji temple. [SM 07/04/2009]
