Description
Flintlock tinder lighter, made of brass. [ILL [OPS move] 14/9/2017]
Long description
Flintlock tinder lighter, made of brass. It consists of a hollow, metal, L-shaped box with two hinged, protruding arms: the frizzen [flat steel] and a curved hammer with a clamp attached at one end, which is operated using a spring mechanism. At the side of the lighter there is a cylindrical, horizontal trigger that activates the hammer when pressed. There is a compartment inside the lighter containing orange-brown tinder, possibly made from plant fibre. It is accessed using a sliding door. There is a brass hoop attached at the side.
