Description
Combined rushlight clip and candle socket. [MOBB [OPS move] 5/4/2017]
Long description
Combined rushlight clip and candle socket. The object consists of a long iron bar at the top of which is fixed a movable arm at the end of which is a candle or 'dip' socket. The rushlight is held in the pincer-shaped holder made from the top of the iron bar and one end of the movable arm. The iron bar is twisted towards the top. The bar was probably fixed into a wooden block with would have acted as a base. There is now no base and it is unclear whether there has ever been one. [MdeA 10/1/2001]
