Research and responses

Note that Bowden gives the dates for Pitt Rivers' obtaining objects from the Thames Gravel Terraces around Acton as January to June 1869 [Bowden, 1991: 73]. However, there are several objects from Acton dated July, August and September 1869 as well. There are also objects dated 1870 and 1871. [AP Leverhulme project on founding collection 1995-1998]
