Long description
Snuff box made of animal hide and hair in the shape of a quadruped with an elongated neck, short snout, long pointed horns, humped back and downwards inclined tail. The shape of the snuff box is formed by placing wet animal hide over a clay core. The clay core has been hollowed out. The head of the animal forms the lid of the snuff container although it can no longer be removed. The snuff box is decorated with strips of black, white and taupe coloured hide to create fur marking and eyes. [CW [OPS Move] 17/10/2016]
