Wooden snuff box part of a snuff container with stopper and chain. The box is cylindrical with sloping sides which narrow towards the neck. The surface of the wood is decorated with two bands of incised lines which form a chevrons design either side of a plain light brown bands. The neck is made of carved and polished bone. the base is capped with a white metal disc which has a cylindrical extension with a flattened top.
