- Description
- Wooden snuff box part of a snuff container with stopper and chain. The box is cylindrical with sloping sides which narrow towards the neck. The surface of the wood is decorated with two bands of incised lines which form a chevrons design either side of a plain light brown bands. The neck is made of carved and polished bone. the base is capped with a white metal disc which has a cylindrical extension with a flattened top. 1967.19.6.2Basket-work stopper, part of a wooden snuff container. The stopper sits around the neck of the snuff container and is attached at one point with chain link hinge. The stopper is decorated with inset black and white trade beads. A double chain is attached to the hinged lid at one end and the wooden snuff container at the other.
