Description
Child's light-weight cotton tabard.
Long description
Light weight cotton tabard, part of a girl-child's costume (see also 2000.34.3 .1, .2,.3). The tabard is created from two black cotton rectangular sections with a central square section with a slit for the head. The decoration is made up of white geometric patterns on a dark blue ground, created using indigo dye and wax resist techniques. The designs are printed onto cotton and stitched to the main body of the garment. [LP 23/10/2000]
