Long description
Woman's ear stud. A thin cylindrical tube, being formed of a rolled up strip of wood or palm leaf, with a conical top of wax. There is a binding of strips of cane, dyed purple, just beneath the top. The conical top is formed of brown wax, with four strips of silver paper or foil running down from the centre. At the apex is a drop of red wax. [JMC 2/8/2019]
