Long description
Woman's ear stud. A cylindrical tube, being formed of a rolled up strip of wood or palm leaf, dyed red, with a conical top of red wax. There are tiny white beads around the rim of the wax, two thirds of which remains, and fragments of gold foil and a shard of glass decorating the wax. There is a depression at the apex, presumably where another bead or seed is missing, which is surrounded by a ring of tiny white beads, only 5 of which remain in situ. [JMC 2/8/2019]
