- Long description
- One of a pair of slipper stirrups. The foot rest is wooden, hollowed-out and ornately carved in relief. Around the foot rest is a steel band, which in attached to the base of the foot rest with four rivets, and on one side is inlaid with a central white metal strip and decorated with golden-yellow chevrons. A rectangular brass hanger has been attached to the centre of the band on the top of the stirrup. For other stirrup in the pair see [1947.7.24 .2] [EH [OPS Move] 4/4/2017]
