- Iron stirrup. It comprises a trapezoidal loop, with a thick, rectangular, undulating tread at the base. The sides are flat and gently curved. There is a square projection at the top, where a strip of iron has been attached with a large iron rivet. [JC [OPS Move] 3/4/2017]
