Research and responses

Mr. Turley's visiting card, found inside the wallet, gives his address as 'Moukden', also spelled 'Mukden', which is now known by its former (Chinese) name of Shenyang. It was also known as 'Fengtian' during the Manchukuo era (1932-1945). The card case may not have been made in this region, but Mr. Turley seems to have been based in this city.
