This comprises a torso at the base of the handle and a rounded projection for the head, both with incised definition on one face only. The distal end is coloured with red pigment on both faces. 1938.36.401Dark wood club with spheroidal, perforated stone head. The wooden shaft is split at the distal end where it is bound with strips of plaited plant fibre. Between the stone head and the shaft is a possibly resinous substance inset with teeth. The handle tapers towards the butt where there is a small raised band.
