Description
Bow, made from wood with a broken rattan string. [ASh [OPS move] 4/8/2017]
Long description
Bow, consisting of a wooden shaft of circular section, slightly bent, tapering towards both ends, one end pointed, the other blunt. Both ends have been thinned down, so as to create a sudden ‘shoulder’ which stops the loop of the string from slipping back. The staff, has been bound round with strips of split rattan and of lizard skin. The string is made from a piece of split rattan, round which loops of elaborately plaited leather thongs are tied. The string is broken in the middle. [ASh [OPS move] 4/8/2017]
